University Appliance customer, you have access to over 1,100
ready-made Courses. With these courses, your instructors and
students can access a wide variety of educational material
online, at any time and from just about any location.
These courses give you the ability to assemble highly
specific curricula in a format that can be refreshed easily and
customized to the needs of individual instructors.
Created by leading educational authors, editors and publishers,
this course material is pre-packaged and formatted for the
VU Appliance and may include PowerPoint slides, documents,
audio/video multimedia files, flash files, web pages, links to
related websites, exam and test banks, and quizzes. While some
courses correlate to textbooks or eBooks, others are intended
for use as stand-alone courses, and all the course materials may
be customized once downloaded to a specific course site.
The VU Appliance course catalog includes courses in more than a
100 precisely targeted disciplines. Our collection of course
cartridges includes offerings in Business and Management,
Computer Science and Desktop Applications,
Telecommunication, Fiber Optics, Engineering, Medicine and
Allied Health, Applied Industrial Technologies and Professional
Fields, Science and Mathematics, and Social and Behavioral
Sciences.
Using the VU Appliance and content platform, publishers,
institutions and instructors are positioned to find new ways to
distribute, use and exchange large amounts of educational content. In
addition, as new ADL/SCORM conforming content becomes available
and additional course packages are created by publishers,
institutions and instructors, they can be downloaded by our
client base. The VU Appliance in this respect represents the
leading edge of the broad-based content sharing that will
characterize educational ecosystems and environments in the years ahead.
